I am a smart, sassy, sexy, compassionate 29-year-old woman, who has struggled with bipolar disorder for most of her life. I have tried innumerable combinations of drug therapies, talk and behavioral therapies, workbooks, and have read over 30 text and self-help books on BD. This blog, at least for now, will focus on my experiences with electroconvulsive therapy; but if you are curious to know more about, or are struggling with bipolar disorder or depression, or if you have any helpful advice for me or links I might find interesting, please submit your comments and/or questions where they are most relevant.
I intend to keep myself as anonymous as possible, because I am a very private person and this is a very personal matter. But I feel the need to speak on it, so I hope you will be able to relate to me through my writing, as opposed to just a random blurb about myself, and gain a feeling of connection to who I am and what I am going through. My intent is that you will find this blog informative, interesting, enlightening, perhaps relatable, but most of all human. I absolutely love it when people leave questions and comments, and I’ll try to respond to all of them.

Best wishes. I’m also 29 years old, bipolar, and am blogging about going through ECT. not the best things for both of us to have in common, but i’m glad to know someone else is in a similar boat. hope we keep in touch.

Like you said, not the best things to have in common, but I intend to take a long, hard look at your blog. Who knows, knowing what’s ahead could help alleviate some of my fears, so I thank you for leaving the above comment. I also think it could be great to know someone who’s in such a similar boat. Good luck to you, my friend.
